Seaworld: Where the Season Meets the Sea

Happy holidays from beautiful San Antonio, Texas.  Those of you who follow us on Facebook know that we traveled around the Country earlier this month.  Our last stop was in beautiful Austin, Texas so we just had to head down to Sea World for the day.  They are currently celebrating Christmas with their "Where the Season Meets the Sea" theme.

We were greeted by Shamu (isn't this little girl posing for a photo adorable?)

Wandering mariachi players added to the festive spirit!

We found Sea World to be a winter wonderland of sea life and fun! They offer not only interactions and viewings of dolphins, beluga & killer whales, sharks, penguins, coral and fish but they have Christmas shows featuring some of these intelligent creatures.   The killer whales made quite a splash while dancing to Holiday tunes.

The Candy Cane forest isn't beachy but was beautiful and charming after nightfall.

Our favorite show was Clyde & Seamore's Countdown to Christmas. What could be better than watching sea lions and otters?  They are SO intelligent!

Before our evening ended, Santa came to visit.  He was joined by Shamu, Seaworld's Mascot, as well as elves and carolers.  We had a blast singing Christmas carols with the large Christmas trees and fake snow falling.

Every inch of the theme park was beautifully decorated for the Season of Giving.

We even rode some roller coasters (what a blast!) but my favorite part was learning about the animals and all the conservation work that Sea World does on a daily basis.

"From the food we eat to the air we breathe, nearly all life on this planet depends on our ocean. That means conserving and caring for the sea and the animals living in it begins at home -- even if home is miles away from the ocean.

Just start somewhere. From using less water at home to knowing more about the fish you eat to keeping trash out of our waterways - which all lead to our one ocean - little actions can make a big difference.
Check out our Top 10 Tips for conserving marine animals and their habitats, then take our One Ocean pledge. Together we can make a world of difference for our blue planet." ~ Sea World
