{Australia} The Best Holiday Destinations to Spend in a Kit Home

If you are planning on building a holiday home some of the best destinations include Sorrento, Byron Bay and the Blue Mountains in New South Wales as well as the Barossa Valley in South Australia.

There are some great holiday destinations in Australia which are all perfect for building a kit home.  Whether you prefer the beach, love the country, or you like to be near the snowfields, there are many different locations around Australia where you can have a holiday home.  With any holiday home make sure you build a patio area to you can entertain all those guests that will be sure to visit.

The Great Ocean Road in Victoria is a popular coastal route.



Sorrento | Sorrento is not far from Melbourne and is one of Victoria's most popular tourist destinations.  There is a main beach on the bay side as well as a surf beach overlooking the ocean.  This beach is not safe for swimmers.  If you don't like the wet as much Sorrento has a large main street, with many fashionable shops  including art galleries, restaurants, clothing and gifts stores.  You can also catch the ferry across from Sorrento to Queenscliff and you can take your car across with you.  There is also plenty to do in the surrounding area with great restaurants and  vineyards nearby.  There is also the Farmers Market at Red Hill, the drive in movies at Dromana and the chair lift at Arthur's Seat.

Margaret River |  Margaret River is located south of Perth and is a popular tourist destination with surfers, food and wine lovers as well as those looking for a weekend escape.  Visit the many wineries and dine at world class restaurants and cafes.  Go surfing or swimming or come to watch the international surfers compete during the professional surfing competition held every year.

Byron Bay | If you are looking for somewhere to build a kit home or holiday home where the atmosphere is one of total relaxation then Byron Bay is your spot.  Byron Bay is great for doing very little or you might enjoy shopping, swimming, walking, visiting the light house or going around to see the great local markets..  Enjoy relaxing on the beach, relax and have a massage as well as other beauty therapies and explore the beautiful surrounding bush land and National park lands.  A lot of people just spend their time hanging out in cafes, listening to music and watching the waves roll in.


Byron Bay Beach

Barossa Valley  | The Barossa Valley  is located not far from Adelaide and is one of the world's most famous wine regions.  There are many events being held throughout the year in the valley, or you might just want to spend time relaxing in a cozy bed and breakfast.  Visit the one of the many wineries and follow the gourmet food trail.  There are surrounding National Parks as well as old towns to visit with great antique stores, bakeries, butchers and lots of restaurants and cafes.

Blue Mountains | Only a short drive from Sydney, the Blue Mountains are a great place to build a holiday home.  If you enjoy the outdoors then you will love to build a holiday home here.  Being so close to Sydney it is the perfect spot for a weekender.  When you are not spending time outdoors hiking, bike riding, camping or site seeing you can go shopping, dine out in five star restaurants and enjoy time at a luxurious day spa.

Just popped into say hi & was amazed to see a picture of the 'Great Ocean Road' in Victoria - this is where I live - my town is the first town on the GOR & is always inundated with tourists heading down to see the 12 Apostles, which is the name of the rock formation in your pic. It's an amazing drive with mainly deserted beaches and national parks and a few tiny seaside towns. So I feel really honored to live in such a beautiful part of the world. Thanks for featuring some great Aussie places!
