We would stay at the adorable Boardwalk Cottages; which are within earshot of the crashing surf. We'd go for walks on the Boardwalk or beach, take in the silvery flocks of migrating shorebirds and enjoy the absence of crowds. October was found to be our favorite month to visit as the tourists had gone home and the stores were less than crowded.

Sunset Magazine did a nice article about the area a few years ago. Escape to the Long Beach Peninsula for fresh seafood, beach strolls, and the rough charm of shore towns. We're off to enjoy yet another beach stroll on the sandy shore. Enjoy your day.
